Rates and Services

Wherever professional, custom branded photos can be used instead of outdated or generic images is an opportunity to focus your brand, connect with your audience, and create something you truly love.

Every client I work with and project I take on is completely unique. More often than not, I will be providing you with a customized quote for my services based off of an in depth conversation we’ve had about your project after you reach out. My quotes vary based on factors such as: length of working relationship/work contract, any special equipment or assistant requirements, intended use of images, and much more. That being said, I do also like to provide some standard rates to give you an idea of my base prices for frequently requested small scale shoots (often for individuals or small businesses). If you’re unsure about if I work on the type of project you’re planning - don’t hesitate to reach out to me to discuss your unique project or budget, one on one. I love to help!

“I’ve been speaking at online conferences more recently, and with 100% of my clients seeing me on Zoom or only connecting with me on LinkedIn, I knew I needed to update my online profile photos to something that actually looked like the real me, and felt approachable. I felt so nervous about having my portraits taken as I’ve never felt comfortable in front of a camera, but Mariel helped me to feel prepared before our session and it ended up being a super fun and enjoyable experience! The best part is, I LOVE my new photos, and finally feel like people are seeing the real me online.”

 Frequently Asked Questions

I am SO awkward in front of a camera.

This is a statement I hear from pretty much every single client I work with before they book. This is truly my specialty - I myself feel very awkward in front of the camera, and I know that it takes a special balance of direction, calmness and an eye for what looks amazing and natural to ease this concern! Ensuring my clients are comfortable and actually enjoying our photo session is a top priority for me.

How many unique images can I expect to receive for Product Photography?

As each and every product photography shoot is unique, this number can vary greatly depending on the number of products in total, number of unique concepts per product we’re hoping to create, and more. Prior to signing on with me, I provide a custom quote detailing the estimated cost of your shoot (based on # of hours needed and any additional prop, model or rental expenses required to fulfil our vision) and I also provide a contract which details exactly how many photos minimum I will provide based on your unique scope of project

What do you require to book?

To move forward with booking, I require a signed contract and a retainer fee of 50% for my art direction package (otherwise, my portrait and branding session invoices are due in full on or before our shoot date).

Do your session rates include commercial usage licenses?

Yes! All of my session rates currently include non-transferable commercial usage licensing for web, social and print for your business. This means that you may use your photos wherever you like, over and over again. You may not share your images with other businesses for their commercial use, however, with your permission, I am happy to sell commercial usage licensing to affiliated organizations if you would like them to also have access to your photos for commercial use. For example, if you’re a blogger, and a clothing manufacturer wants to use images from your session where you are wearing their products for their own advertising, the clothing manufacturer may contact me to purchase their own commercial usage license.

Can you help me with finding a great location for my session?

Yes! Based on our branding alignment discussion, I will help you with narrowing down the perfect location for your shoot if you don’t have one in mind already. This is something I assist with for every single one of my shoots. However, if you require a paid space for your shoot, and would like me to handle the research and booking logistics of a rental space or studio completely, you will need to purchase my Art Direction package, which allows me to take over the management of the space rental booking on your behalf, as well as all other planning, booking, styling and logistical aspects of your shoot.

Do your rates include gst or pst?

As a service based business, my clients are subject to gst only (5%) - which will be added to your invoice. My rates do not include gst already.
